Adult Music Lessons in Missoula & Online
It is not too late to become a musician. Begin for the first time, return after years away, or finally make the music you have carried with you. Your study is built around your goals, your taste, and the life you are living now.
No previous experience is required. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Adult beginners are not starting from nothing.
You bring a lifetime of listening, favorite artists, stories, instincts, and ideas. Thoughtful adult instruction respects all of that. Instead of placing you into a children’s curriculum, we begin with what you want music to make possible—and build the technique, confidence, and musicianship to help you get there.
Begin for the first time
Learn without embarrassment, pressure, or assumptions about what you “should” already know. Curiosity is enough to begin.
Return to music
Reconnect with piano, guitar, singing, or songwriting after years away and build a relationship with music that fits your present life.
Create something of your own
Write a first song, prepare for an open mic, record a personal project, or develop a more ambitious path as an artist.
Learn the music you actually want to make.
Technique and theory matter, but they are taught in service of music that means something to you. Your curriculum can grow and change as your interests and confidence develop.

Am I too old to begin?
No. Adults can acquire meaningful new musical skills throughout life. Your pace and learning strategies may be personal, but age does not disqualify you from becoming a musician.
Do I need to read music?
No. Depending on your goals, sessions may use listening, chord charts, lyric sheets, recordings, visual patterns, movement, traditional notation, or a combination.
Can I study more than one area?
Yes. Piano, guitar, voice, songwriting, recording, production, and performance can be combined into a personalized course of study.
Are sessions available online?
Yes. Adult students may apply for in-person sessions in Missoula or online sessions from anywhere.
What have you always wanted to make?
